Forestry Management

New York State is almost two-thirds forested, and 85 percent of those woods are owned by private citizens. To ensure that these forests remain healthy, productive and sustainable, the Cornell ForestConnect Program provides information, technical resources and guidance to help forest owners better manage their arboreal holdings.

Resources for Sustainable Forestry Management

Cornell ForestConnect Program – Connects forest users to the knowledge and resources needed to ensure sustainable production and ecological function on private forest lands (exiting the CCEDC website).

Master Forest Owner Volunteers – Contact a local trained MFO volunteer, who can visit your property to provide free non-technical assistance to private forest landowners.
