On Monday, June 16th, the Resiliency Project hosted its first seminar of the year, “Forests and Wetlands for Flood Management”. Like last year, the Project will be presenting a series of seminars throughout the summer and fall on a number of different topics related to streams and flooding.
This first seminar – which took place at the Farm and Home Center in Millbrook, NY (CCE Dutchess County offices) – was a presentation by Marilyn Wyman of CCE Columbia-Greene, who spoke about the benefits forests provide in terms of flood management; and Laura Heady of the NYSDEC’s Hudson River Estuary Program, who spoke about the benefits of wetlands in the same respect.
