Community Food Security

Located at the Farm and Home Center, the Food, Nutrition and Wellness Program creates and sustains an educational garden that provides vegetables to low income families and participants of the Nutrition Information Program. The garden, in conjunction with the Plant a Row for the Hungry, provides fresh vegetables to local individuals, families with children and senior citizens in an effort to promote community food security.

Food rescue brings together community volunteers to harvest farm products donated by local growers, which are then distributed to the hungry. Those interested in volunteering either as a volunteer to glean products or to donate extra harvest can contact the Food, Nutrition and Wellness Program.
